Frequently Asked Questions

Q8 Can I take my pet onto the ferry, is there a charge and what documents do I need?

All the Ferries operating between Italy, Greece, the Greek Islands, Turkey, Cyprus and Lebanon accept cats and dogs.

If you intend to travel with a pet you must make this known at the time of booking.

Some of the larger ferries have 'pet friendly' cabins. Larger ferries without pet friendly cabins provide deck kennels for dogs. Lap dogs and cats can be taken into all cabins.

On smaller ferries cats and small dogs must be kept in a traveling box. Larger dogs must be muzzled and kept on a leash.

The larger ferries make a nominal charge for pets, while most of the smaller ferries make no charge.

All pets traveling across national borders must have documentary proof of vaccination issued by an authorized veterinary surgeon.
